Wawcas International Nepal
Craft Sisters was founded on a trip to Nepal with non-profit Danish-Nepalese organization WAWCAS International in 2015 and since then we have been engaged in developing the programme by focusing on handicraft making.
WAWCAS has since 2007 helped over 2000 Nepalese women find a way out of poverty, to become independent and to live a sustainable life. The women are organized in groups and offered 16 months of training in starting up their own business and a small entrepreneurship loan.
Craft Sisters supports the project financially and is also committed to creating opportunities for women to use their handicraft skills. Working closely with the local team in Nepal, we select traditional handicrafts, develop designs, source materials, ensure quality and support the entire production process while the women receive the necessary training. The first finished products are beautiful woven cushions.
