Vintage Kantha throw – also called Lohari-rug or galicha (rug)
These extra heavy Kantha rugs, also known as Lohari rugs or galicha, are handmade in India by Indian women using the traditional kantha embroidery technique on old cotton saris. In India, they are used as floor rugs – but we think they are perfect for the summer bench, daybed, or as a decorative layer on the sofa.
Each throw is unique with different front and back sides and carries small, charming imperfections like crooked stitches and patches – traces of the life the textile has lived. All Craft Sisters Kantha throws are carefully selected.
100% cotton. Machine wash at 30 degrees.
