ASSOCIATION FOR CRAFT PRODUCERS (ACP), NEPAL
ACP was established in 1984 and combines social goals with a sustainable business model. The organization is a local, non-profit fair trade actor led by a board of 11 members, most of whom are women.
ACP was founded by Meera Bhattarai with a vision to empower low-income artisans, especially women, through work and economic independence. Today, the organization works with 50 full-time employees, 30 internal producers, and over 500 affiliated producers who either work from home or in communities.
ACP combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design and offers design, marketing, management, and technical support that helps producers increase their income and create a more stable daily life. Overall, the organization contributes to improving the living conditions of about 3,000 people.
