A non-profit, non-governmental, and certified Fair Trade organization rooted in Patan, Nepal. Since 1983, the organization has worked to create new opportunities for vulnerable and low-income families through education, care, and vocational training.

Today, KTS operates an orphanage, kindergarten, school, and a technical training institution. Originally, the organization was established to support the most marginalized castes, who were previously excluded from both education and work. Today, they offer vocational training in areas such as carpet weaving, knitting, and furniture carpentry, while also ensuring care and schooling for children up to 6th grade.

Through their own production units, income is generated to support social initiatives, and more than 2,300 women have the opportunity to work from their own homes. With their craftsmanship, they help create change for themselves, their families, and their local communities.

Craft Sisters collaborates with KTS to produce knitted mittens, scarves, and Christmas decorations – products that carry stories of craftsmanship, community, and new opportunities.
